Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Chanan Porat, member of Kibbutz Kfar Etzion  past MK, National Religious Party, beloved father, husband, grandfather, author and Torah scholar.

Porat was born in Kfar Pines in 1943. In 1944, his family moved to Kfar Etzion. In January of 1948, Kfar Etzion was besieged and the children were evacuated to Jerusalem . Chanan was among those children, but he returned 19 years later, in 1967 to rebuild his beloved kibbutz.

He will be buried in Kibbutz Kfar Etzion Tomorrow at 11am.

May his memory be blessed. He will remain a great inspiration to us all.

He will not be forgotten.
