Artists 4 Israel visit Gush Etzion
For the past two weeks 15 artists from the US and Europe have been hard at work painting large-scale graffiti art all over Israel. Craig Dershowitz, a Jewish resident of Manhattan and the president of Artists4Israel, said that most of the artists who worked with him on the project were not even Jewish. "We have no political message."
Shani Simkovitz, the director of the Gush Etzion Foundation met the group in Gush Etzion, in a joint effort with the One Israel Fund. The Fund has been bringing the group to Israel for the past 3 years.
They had no trouble with the fact that this is Gush Etzion, because these artists have a goal – to take places that are associated with security issues and are in the news, and insert a little color into them. They love this country and don't make any distinction between towns inside and outside of the Green Line. They met many wonderful residents of the area and formed many new friendships.

Arists 4 Israel a non profit organization paid for the flight and the paint. Each host organized their meals and most sleeping arrangements. Their supply of some 700 hundred spray cans were bought in Israel. In Gush Etzion, they visited the audio- visual presentation in Kfar Etzion. They painted the main Gush Etzion Junction, Soldiers' Rest Stop, the Caliber Range and the youth Center in Tekoa. These places certainly look different. Wherever you go you cannot miss the beautiful art everywhere.
