More than a year ago, Even Kotel, the photographer, passed away. Even was a resident of Neve Daniel. Many of his photographs were exhibited at the memorial service held in his honor. Perusing his photographs and admiring his treasures and talent was a very moving experience. His name recalls the Kotel, the Western Wall surrounding the ancient Jerusalem Temple.
Even took many pictures, especially on Jerusalem Day.

Ya’ara, Even ‘s wife, and his son Shachar, who is now celebrating his bar mitzvah, together with the Early Childhood Department of the Regional Council of Gush Etzion published a set of Even’s special photographs of Jerusalem.
Shaul Goldstein, head of the regional council, who knew Even personally wrote:
"It was a great privilege to know Even Kotel. He was a man who was always happy, full of energy and vitality. Even was always busy as if he had never heard the word fatigue. When we would meet , he would ask me many questions about the political situation and always made a comment with some joyful and uplifting content .We will miss him!”

Ya’ara, a kindergarten teacher who works in Neve Daniel,:
"Even, my husband was a photographer, he loved to take photographs. He always had a camera in his hand, and when he saw beautiful things he took pictures. He photographed weddings, bar mitzvahs, and birthdays. He loved to photograph smiling children".
