       Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barakat Visits Gush Etzion

 On Thursday,  July 1, the  Mayor of Jerusalem, Mr.  Nir Barakat  visited  Gush Etzion. The  day was spent  with the various division managers and department heads of the two municipalities, Jerusalem and  Gush, as part of an initiative to strengthen cooperation between the two authorities.

 During the first part of the day the group toured the area and visited various historical sites, such as the Herodion, Biyar Aqueduct, and viewed the audio- visual presentation in Kibbutz Kfar Etzion.

The second part of the day was spent exchanging ideas, comparing work oriented issues, and discussing cooperation and visions for the future.

Mayor Shaul Goldstein presented his vision of the greater Jerusalem  metropolitan area while Mayor Barakat spoke of the great importance and connection of the two regions and looked forward to continuing the friendly ties and promotion of joint projects. He also invited the Gush Etzion hosts for a special day in Jerusalem.
