60 Years Commemorating the Birth of the State of Israel and the Fall of Gush Etzion

In Loving Memory

Gush Etzion mourns our soldiers that fell  in  battle in the south, H"YD.

Liutenant Roei Rozner was killed last week when a rocket hit his tank in Gaza. Roei H"YD was recently stationed in Gush Etzion as a regional officer in charge of the area's security.

With Love from Gush Etzion #2

Gush Etzion and Efrat Support Sderot

Last week the vendors from  Sderot were invited to sell their wares to the community of Alon Shvut . By purchasing goods from Sderot the residents expressed their support for  the businesses that do not generate a sufficient income. Next week there will be an additional opportunity to purchase goods in Efrat.

Many residents of Gush Etzion are preparing packages to send to our soldiers on the front. Others are hosting families from the south.  In addition,  some children have been integrated into our classrooms.  The Shalva Center in Alon Shvut has also opened its doors for children with special needs.

The local JCC ( Matnas) of Gush Etzion is also involved in sending volunteers to shelters to work with the families and children.

We continue to pray for the speedy recovery of our wounded soldiers and for the safety of our troops and the residents in the south.

Liraz Madmony, a 23-year-old law student from Sderot, addressed the UN Human Rights Council Special Session on Gaza in Geneva on behalf of the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) on Monday, before the vote by the council that condemned Israel's military offensive in Gaza and resolved to send a fact-finding mission to investigate alleged Israeli abuses against Palestinians.

Here is the text of her speech.
