Modern day heroes
At the time of this newsletter we want to express our gratitude to the Almighty and our modern heroes.
Last Thursday, January 24 two armed terrorits broke into the Makor Chaim High School Yeshiva located at Kibbutz Kfar Etzion.
The schools counselors who were holding a meeting in the library acted bravely and quickly, killing the terrorists.
Only a few were slightly wounded but all have been released from the hospital.
Israel National News reported that at the same time the adjacent
Beit Medrash (study hall) had been packed with students taking part in the weekly Thursday night "mishmar" all-night Torah study session,
An army official praised the quick response of the counselors and students. "This could have ended much worse," a source in the Central Command said.

March of the Lamed Hey 2008

Saluting the Lamed Hey

gershon elinson
Last week in freezing cold weather 4000 people followed in the footsteps of the Lamed Hey in a march that had been
postponed from the previous week due to a storm.
Youth groups from all over the country, IDF soldiers, families and individuals proceeded in an all night- long adventure which included historical explanations along the famous route of the Lamed Hey, hot soup, and bonfires to keep warm . The march ended with prayers at the break -of dawn at the battle hill and a short ceremony saluting the brave and heroic Lamed Hey.
A recently updated booklet in Hebrew and a short film on the legacy of the Lamed Hey- wonderful and most appropriate educational tools , especially with the future 60th year commemorations in mind, can be purchased at:
