Gush Etzion Foundation receives gift for Reisheit School, from John Hagee
On Sunday April 6, 2008 an event to honor Israel and in support of Jerusalem remaining united and under Jewish control took place at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem. Pastor Hagee and his group, Christians United for Israel, were joined by keynote speakers Benjamin Netanyahu, head of the Likud Party, Rabbi Arye Sheinberg, from the orthodox congregation of Rodfei Shalom San Antonio TX , and David Brog Executive Director of CUFI.
For many years, Pastor Hagee's group CUFI, has been raising millions of dollars for Israel. This past Sunday he donated $6 million to 16 Israeli causes.
The Reisheit School in Gush Etzion was the recipient of one of the generous gifts of $100,000. Mayor Shaul Goldstein received the gift along with the other 16 recipients from various Jewish organizations.
The Reisheit School is unique due to its commitment to mainstream special needs children in classes with their peers. The elementary school's 14 classes, grades 1-7 have 340 children of whom 60 are children with special needs, including Down's Syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism.
