Location:

Eastern Gush Etzion, 10 minutes from Efrat ,
30 minutes from Jerusalem, overlooking the Judean Desert

Goals:

To enable families to grow spiritually in a kehilla-style chareidi community environment led by a resident English-speaking Rav.

Character:

Rural community of young and middle aged native Israelis as well as Russian and American olim. Some residents learn in kollel full time or part-time; others work but are koveiía itim líTorah.

Population:

79 families, primarily Ashkenazi Litvish but several Israeli Sephardi families. One shul, Nusach Ashkenaz.

Housing:

Rental housing, option to buy or build a home after a trial year. When available housing runs out we will offer caravans.

Services:

Day care center for 3 months to 3 years. Separate schools for boys and girls from pre-school. Bais Yaakov  through grade 8;  Talmud Torah through grade 6. Two Kollelim. Shul, Mikvah, Leumit medical clinic. Judaica book and tape library for children through adults. Separate shiurim in English and Hebrew for men and women. Free bullet-proof bus transportation to and from schools in Jerusalem for older students. Chugim for women and children.

Climate:

Similar to Jerusalem. Slightly dryer in winter. Cool summer nights.

Employment:

Most people work in Jerusalem, some in Gush Etzion. Most jobs available on the yishuv are occupied but occasional part-time opportunities arise. Residents work in white-collar, blue-collar and religious professions.

Transportation:

Egged bus #165 four times a day.
