March of the Lamed Hey 2009

    At the break of dawn, 35 brave defenders are discovered and never reach their destination.

    In their memory, the Regional Council initiated "The March of the Lamed Hey" - walking in their footsteps and along their path to rediscover the spirit of 1948 - heroism, friendship and dedication.

    This year the March will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2009. If weather conditions are inclement, the March will take place the following Thursday.

    23: 30 Meet at Kibbutz Netiv Halamed Hey
    23:30- 24:30 Start March from kibbutz via Eylah Valley toward Battle Hill
    4:30 -5:30 Kumsitz
    5:30 – 6:30 March up to Battle Hill
    6:30-7:30 Sunrise on Battle Hill
    7:30 Closing Ceremony
    8:00 – 9:00 End of March
